Rocktober 9: Adrenaline by The Roots

One more ‘rap is rock’ post then back to pure-breed Rocktober. Today’s installment is Adrenaline by The Roots, a rap group rooted in live instrumentation—which is what defines rock.

The Roots may be Jimmy Fallon’s house band now but they were formed in 1987, one year after Walk This Way forever fused rock and rap. Adrenaline is on their fourth album from 1999 called Things Fall Apart, a breakout gold album which featured Mos Def before anyone knew who he was and the hit You Got Me with Erykah Badu. But I’m embedding Adrenaline here because it rocks way harder.
