Rocktober 16: Scorpions double shot

A staple of classic rock radio is the double shot: back to back songs from your favorite rockers. Two For Tuesday was the gimmick of 94 Rock, my station growing up. Since I was having trouble narrowing down Scorpions songs for today’s Rocktober installment, I’m rolling with the double shot.

Rock You Like A Hurricane is a staple that simply cannot be excluded from my Rocktober collection. But I also had to include Still Loving You, their 1984 story of a last try at love—and also a metaphor for a then-divided East and West Germany—this song is the very blueprint of rock power ballad with obvious appeal: it still gets tens of millions of hits all over the web.
