– PPI-FD core (less food & energy) year/year  +1.6%. Previous was +1.7%

– PPI-FD less food, energy & trade services month/month +0.2%. Previous was  +0.2%

– PPI-FD less food, energy & trade services year/year +1.6 %  – PPI-FD Goods month/month +0.0%

– PPI-FD Goods year/year +2.0% – PPI-FD Services month/month +0.1% – PPI-FD Services year/year +1.5%

Inflation remains well-contained and the higher than expected number of last month did not continue.

 

Empire State Manufacturing Survey  (August 2014)

– General Business Conditions Index 14.69. Previous was 25.60.

This is a survey index of manufacturers in New York State and is a reminder that New York was once an important state for manufacturing. Manufacturing makes up only 5.1% of the jobs in New York State.

 

Industrial Production (July 2014)

– Production month/month  +0.4%. Previous was +0.4%

– Capacity Utilization Rate 79.2%. Previous was 79.1%.

University of Michigan Consumer Sentiment (August 2014)

– Sentiment 79.2. Previous was 82.3.

This is built from questions asked of 500 households attempting to measure their opinions of the economy and what their spending will be in the next 90 days.

 

E-Commerce Retail Sales (2ndQ2014)

– E-Sales quarter/quarter +4.9%. Previous was +3.3%.

The percent of retail sales which were e-sales rose from 6.2% to 6.4% in the quarter.
