This is an index compiled by the Federal Reserve intended to be a broad measure of the health of the jobs market. This is a relatively new metric. It has been negative for 8 of the past

9 months indicating that the Labor Market is softer than media accounts would have us believe.

This is compiled from a survey of small businesses.

Redbook Chain Store Sales (week ended 10/8/2016)

– Store Sales year/year +0.5%. Previous was +1.3%
