All You Need To Know About Why Things Fell Apart: Michael Lewis

Here’s a piece today from Michael Lewis, the man who can usually make complicated financial matters simple. This is his dissent on the findings of the Financial Crisis Inquiry Commission, of which he was a member. The fact that it’s uncharacteristically unclear—especially the part about women on Wall Street—proves how complicated an issue this is.

wow. the commission actually brought up the role of women as a possible reason for collapse?!?!!??! “one sure sign of the importance of women in the financial crisis is the market’s subsequent response: to purge women from senior Wall Street roles. Wall Street’s gender problem is, for the moment, of merely academic interest.” vomit. as I always like to remind my brothers in arms, rarely do you see a belligerent WOMAN in mass fundamentalist power rallies Wall Street included. we are wise enough to know that the power is in asking those “annoying questions” even if our very lives are at stake. thoughts and prayers to Lara Logan of CBS News who was brutally assaulted the night Mubarek stepped down (all while her colleague Harry Smith was being carried on the shoulders of revelers). we need MORE women (like badass Tabitha Soren) on Wall Street not less.
