Henry Blodget’s Next Step In Media Mogul Master Plan: Take Reins At Yahoo, Buy All Top Category Blogs

Back in March, I presented 3 reasons why Henry Blodget would become the next media mogul, and my theory wasn’t based on him being a top content producer, it was because he is building a top platform. Fast forward to today, when Blodget officially shared his master plan: Yahoo buys his Business Insider website, promotes him to Yahoo president, he then buys AOL (and maybe all major online upstarts like Huffington Post, Gawker Media, Politico, Sugar, Hulu, etc) and refocuses Yahoo on content and mail/chat. There’s also third ‘commerce’ part of his plan which he didn’t reveal. But his actions today—using his content power to lay out plans for large-scale platform domination—again prove he’s a media mogul in the making.
