Home Prices Up 7 Consecutive Months (CHARTS)
S&P Case-Shiller Home Price Index (August 2012)
– 20-city, Seasonally Adjusted, Month/Month 0.5%
– 20-city, Not Seasonally Adjusted, Month/Month 0.9%
– 20-city, Not Seasonally Adjusted, Year/Year 2.0%
This marks 7 months of increase in this index (20-city Seasonally Adjusted Month/Month), and also the 20-city not seasonally adjusted year/year gain of 2% is the biggest year/year gain in 2 years. After the mortgage mess we had a similar increase in values in 2009 which abated. This one is likely to stick.
