Manufacturing Expanding. Construction Spending up.

 

Rates start the week in slightly better territory after this morning’s U.S. data, summarized below.

ISM Manufacturing Index (March 2013)

– ISM Manufacturing Index is 51.3.  Previous was 54.2.

The regional Federal reserve reports give the data for each region.  Since the Index value is over 50, manufacturing is still expanding albeit at a slower pace. Here are some manufacturer’s responses from the survey, plus more findings:

PMI Manufacturing Index (March 2013)

– Index is 54.6.  Previous was 54.3.

Construction Spending  (February 2013)

– Construction Spending – Month/Month +1.2%. Previous was -2.1%

– Construction Spending – Year/Year  +7.9%.
