How many mortgage loans will be made in 2017?

Here’s the latest MBA projections on mortgage originations. Still holding at $1.6 trillion for 2017 vs. $1.9 trillion for 2016. The MBA will update this forecast in the next week, and while the $1.6t might not move much, I’ll be watching to see if the refi vs. purchase share skews toward refi after rates have dropped to 2017 lows in the past month. Will post the update when it comes.
