As some know, The Economist has been running their Big Mac Index since 1986 with a goal of seeing how the same product can be priced differently across the world. As of July, the price of a Big Mac at McDonald’s ranged from $1.70 in Malaysia to $7.88 in Norway. The Dallas Fed recently commented on Big Mac pricing dynamics in detail, and it’s a worthwhile read for anyone interested in global pricing dynamics.
