Creator Middle Class Update: YouTube ecosystem equal to 345k full time U.S. jobs, and 2m creators made $30b since 2019

 
 

Over 2m creators participate in YouTube’s partner program globally, and they’ve paid creators $30 billion since 2019. They say the YouTube ecosystem supported the equivalent of 345,000 U.S. jobs in 2019 alone.

This is a strong proof point on how independent creators can make real livings, and how a middle class is emerging in the creator economy. There have been a bunch of media stories on this today but here is the source blog straight from YouTube’s chief product officer Neal Mohan.
