85 Tarantino characters ranked in honor of Pulp Fiction 30th anniversary

Which Tarantino characters are the all time best? Here's your list.

Quentin Tarantino’s second movie Pulp Fiction was released 30 years ago on October 14, 1994. I remember seeing it in the theater and immediately going to see it again. Totally sucked in by the out-of-order storytelling and bonkers-but-relatable characters — how funny and original was it to see gangsters talking about mundane daily stuff as they did their gangster stuff?

I then went back to Tarantino’s first movie Reservoir Dogs, and in an era where young dudes would have gonzo Pacino Scarface posters on their walls, I instead preferred those lethally laid back jewel thieves walking down that Los Angels alley in their black suits.

Even at my wedding years later, we did the black suit Reservoir Dogs shots with my best friends and groomsmen in the Ferry Building here in San Francisco.

I cooled on later Tarantino movies mostly because the violence felt increasingly gratuitous to me.

But reading this truly epic ranking of 85 Tarantino characters The Ringer did made me warm back up to Tarantino’s mastery of character.

Thanks to The Ringer team for this piece, and their mastery of covering pop culture. This piece is so good. Cancel some meetings and hit the link below. It’s a better use of your time 😊 🎬.

Enjoy (and here’s The Basis Point pop culture archive)…

Is Brad Pitt’s stoner Floyd from True Romance Tarantino’s best character? Not quite, but he’s on this truly epic list from The Ringer.
