THE BASIS POINT

bTunes Dedication To Global Financial Markets: I’m Broken

OK, I’ve been preoccupied since last weekend because my wife and I had our first baby. It was the week between the Fannie/Freddie takeover and the collapse of the entire investment banking industry along with AIG, WAMU bailouts and all kinds of other mayhem. Needless to say, with the new changes at home, I haven’t been watching markets closely to keep up with every single detail—but all seems to be unraveling.

So without too much analysis, I will offer a Market Mayhem Metal installment of bTunes that is dedicated to global financial markets. As usual, we try to pick accessible bTunes even if the genre isn’t something people normally listen to. Pantera’s I’m Broken couldn’t be more appropriate for the market’s current state, and it was also the band’s biggest hit worldwide so that should say something about its marketability. Yes it’s hardcore, but these are hardcore times. So let it fuel you through whatever’s coming next.
