Many Game of Thrones “fans” won’t stop whining about how they didn’t like how things went down in season 8. Three quick notes on this:
1. You need to lighten up and enjoy all the residual benefits that come from a cultural phenomenon. That’s one of the best things about pop culture in the social era. As Night King slayer Arya said on twitter Monday:
just here for the memes

2. Don’t pretend you won’t be talking about the Starbucks cup and the water bottle for the rest of your days. Especially the coffee cup proves just how huge a phenom GOT really is. It’s estimated Starbucks got $2.3 billion in free advertising from the cup accidentally being in a shot this season—and it wasn’t even a Starbucks cup.
3. If you need a reminder of how great the production value of GOT is, do not miss Daenerys torching King’s Landing in ‘The Bells’ episode set to Metallica’s For Whom The Bell Tolls. It’s the greatest GOT fan art ever created. If you can’t enjoy this, you can’t be helped.
