Friday Funk: The Little Rasti – Donald Byrd

Tonight’s Friday Funk installment is The Little Rasti, an 18 minute funky opus to honor trumpet legend Donald Byrd who died this week at 80. I got the news from Oliver Wang’s Soulsides blog. I was lucky enough to take one of Wang’s music writing classes years ago, and his skills make him one of the most influential music journalists out there.
