Colbert’s Gas Price Analysis: The Tank Is Half Full

“What’s good for big oil is good for America” proclaimed Stephen Colbert as he opened his new segment: The Tank is Half Full. A wise play since oil prices broke the $140 mark this week, and the trend is unlikely to abate with increasing demand from emerging markets.

While the rest of us go broke on rising gas and food prices, at least we can laugh as Colbert gets richer exposing the humor in recent media reports: Schools in Minnesota are switching to a four-day school week. Cops in Georgia are charging extra for gas when pulling over speeders. One Florida strip club revenues are down 35% because people can’t afford the drive to get there.
