Friday Funk (Rocktober style): The Cisco Kid

As The 31 Days of Rocktober rolls into it’s second Friday, it’s time again to blend the rock picks with my normal Friday Funk installment. Going with The Cisco Kid from War, perhaps the best funk rock band ever. These mofos have sold over 50 million records and Cisco Kid is on The World Is A Ghetto, their fifth album. It went number one and was the best selling album of 1973, my first year on this ghetto they called earth. Which I’m just now realizing makes me The Cisco Kid. That and hailing from San Francisco. And as the song will tell you: I am a friend of yours. So stay tuned, the next few Rocktober installments will be picks from friends.
