Jobs Gains Modest

BLS Jobs (January 2013)

The BLS Employment Situation Report showed 157,000 more jobs in January and substantial revisions to the 2 previous months.  There was a large increase in the labor force driven the Unemployment Rate from 7.849% to 7.927%.  Details will appear here later today.

Construction Spending (December 2012)

-Construction Spending – Month/Month +0.9% -Construction Spending – Year/Year +7.8%

PMI Manufacturing Index (January 2013)

– Index Level 55.8.  Previous was 54.0.

ISM Manufacturing Index (January 2013)

– Level  53.1. Previous was 50.7.

This is the best showing since May.
