Rocktober 7: Empire State of Mind

Ending the first week of Rocktober music picks by transitioning to rap—because rap is rock. More on this tomorrow. But for now, as I set out for Friday night in Manhattan, Jay Z’s Empire State of Mind is the obvious soundtrack. And I must say, the lights do indeed inspire me.
